TO ACHIEVE THE PERFECT TAN YOU NEED THE PERFECT CANVAS
Before Your Spray Tan Appointment
Moisturise twice daily for a week leading up to your tan. The end result of your spray tan depends how hydrated your skin is before and after application.
However do not moisturise on the day of your spray tan appointment.
Prepare your skin by gently exfoliating preferably 24 hours prior to your tan to remove any dead cells.
Do not exfoliate on the day of your spray tan appointment.
Ensure to wax or shave at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan.
Do not shave or wax on the day of your spray tan appointment. The use of razors with moisturising strips can affect your tan result.
A light coat of nail polish is advisable on natural nails as this will prevent the tan from staining your finger nails.
On the day of your Spray Tan Appointment
Do not apply moisturiser, perfume or deodorant prior to your tan as they may act as a barrier when tanning and prevent an even coverage.
Any product applied to your skin will act as either a barrier to the tan (so you will have patches) OR it may react chemically with the tan solution (you make look slightly green until you shower off)
Do NOT use Bondi Sands Tan Remover or any other tan remover within 12 hours prior to your tan application
If you are sweaty or hot the sweat acts as a barrier to the tan, and may also cause the tan to run, causing streaks/patches.
You will be provided with a disposable G-string. If you wish to wear your own underwear it is best to wear dark underwear.
Make sure to wear loose and dark clothing and thongs before and after your tanning session.
Remove all bras and tops containing elastic (shelf bras) well before your tan appointment.
Tight clothing will rub against your skin and may cause patches.
Be sure to not shower within 2 hours prior to your spray tan application.
After your Spray Tan Application
Shower no earlier than 1 hour but no later than 12 hours after your tan appointment unless directed otherwise by your tanner.
Use only water to rinse the tan off. Do not scrub/rub your skin.
Do not use any body washes/shampoo as this may affect your tan development.
Avoid exercising and excessive perspiring on the day of your tanning session.
Do not shower, swim or get wet for at least 2 hours after application before your first shower.
Do not use lotions containing AHA’s. These lotions increase exfoliation and may fade your tan or possibly cause the tan to go yellow.
Try not to wash your hands after your tan, your tan will fade on the tops of your hands and leave them looking lighter than your body.
The full, two phase development time is 24 hours but you are able to shower after two – eight hours depending on which tan you had applied.
After the initial development period, your base tan would have developed and even if you shower, the second phase will continue to develop and your tan will deepen in colour.
After your first shower your tan will continue to develop over the next 24 hours.
The tan will last up to 5-7 days, however, factors such as activity, maintenance and skin type may cause results to vary.
